I am currently working in a public middle school in NYC, teaching 7th grade ELA, Math and reading classes. I received a Masters in Education from Fordham University, double major in Adolescent General Education, Social Studies, and Special Education (2013). I received a Bachelors in History from Hunter College-Cuny (2012). I worked for 8 years in analyzing and selecting independent and foreign films.
As a current public middle school teacher, I have gained experience in learning student's learning styles and developed strategies to address their academic strengths and weaknesses. Fordham provided me with a variety of skills to successfully teach subject content, reading and writing skills. At Hunter, I did extensive reading and writing for history assignments. In that process, I developed strong analytical skills and methods to carefully select portions of readings to respond to long essays. Through my special education classes, I learned how to implement teaching methods to meet the needs of exceptional students.
I’m fluent in Spanish and use that skill to tutor English Language Learners.
I have high standards and believe that all people can do quality of work if they are provided with effective tutoring and work hard.
