I am a friendly, free spirited, and well-educated artist from Japan, living in New York City
I speak fluent Japanese and English. Oil painting for me is another language and is my passion. As an artist, I am a dedicated and skilled painter but I have a passion for the art of language as well.
I received BFA from San Francisco Art Institute, and Masters degree from the Tish School of Art, NYU.
I have been actively exhibiting my paintings in Italy and at a recent one-woman show at Nancy Margolis Gallery in Chelsea, NYC in last March.
As for teaching Japanese, my first language is Japanese and I am a creative and patient teacher.
I have two years experience teaching English to children in Japan.
I very much enjoyed this experience. I utilized drama as a teaching technique - using body expression to demonstrate the thoughts, feelings and ideas of the students.
I can adapt the concept of this dynamic technique to tutor students if they prefer to it. I can use the proper textbook according to each student’s needs and skill level.
Additional to language I could also teach knitting, crochet, sewing and cooking.
