Dear friends,
My name is Lawrence W. I am experienced in tutoring political, economic and social Geography, International Governments/Politics and Chinese. I tutored 2 years of Chinese in High School, and 2 years of Geography and Political Science in University while studying in both institutions respectively.
I use conversational method to teach Chinese, emphasizing on the pronunciation. I also teach general grammar, syntax, as well as writing and reading. Tutoring is not a one time event, to get positive results for a test or a class; students need to continuously put in a conscientious effort to learn and work. Practice makes it perfect.
To jump start a tutoring session, I usually sit down with the student and set goals together what we expect of each other and what we want out of these series of tutoring.
I am a native speaker in Mandarin Chinese and English; I read and write in both simplified and traditional characters in Chinese. Teaching languages and learning them have always been something I enjoy in life. I lived 14 years in Taiwan, 7 years in the States, and 2 years in France.
I always did really well on math so I don’t mind tutoring algebra II.
