I am qualified to teach ACT English because I am certified in English. I have taught and tutored students in English for over 12 years. Preparing students for exams such as ACT exams has been my forte. You will be very happy if you select me.
I am qualified to tutor grades K-6, first of all, because I am a certified teacher in both New York and New Jersey. My areas of certification are General Education, English and Special Education. For over three years I have been a substitute teacher for all grades K-12. For over 12 years, I have been a teacher of reading, English, and special education. My forte is tutoring, one-to-one. I care about teaching the "whole" child - and motivating each child to learn.
My forte as a painter is to serve as a coach/ consultant to that person who wants to become a painter. I will consult with you on the proper materials to buy, and show you, as an aspiring artist, where to find the best art supplies for the best price and how to use them.
I have been a painter for over 12 years and I have inspired my English students to artistically illustrate poems or stories. I studied at The Art Students League of New York. Numerous artists who have made international impact have been teachers and/or artists there, such as Georgia O'Keeffe, Alexander Calder and Romare Bearden.
Additionally, I studied drawing and painting with water colors, acrylics and pastels under Gilbert Gonzalez, Ronnie Landfield and the late Ric Del Rossi.
As a Special Needs classroom teacher of over 8 years, I have standard certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped issued by the State of New Jersey. To maximize my effectiveness as a tutor, I will read and follow the students Individual Education Plan (IEP).
My goal is to be an effective tutor, keeping abreast of current academic studies and professional development with an emphasis on the special needs of students. As an inclusion teacher, my experience centers around integrating special and general education teachers who work collaboratively to embellish learning of all students focusing on special needs students. Most of my experience is with children who are classified as having Attention Deficit Disorders as well as Hyperactive Disorders.
As a Highly Qualified certified teacher I use "best practices" to maximize learning and academic achievement as I monitor progress. I have been called a miracle worker with some special needs children. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you and that Special Student.
I am an Ivy League educated and certified teacher of English for general education as well as special education students. Having good study skills is imperative if one is to succeed in any area - especially English. I am knowledgable and motivated to improve my students' study skills. My study skills teaching experience ranges from elementary school through college.
I am qualified to teach students vocabulary skills because of my experience as an English teacher. And I have successfully applied my vocabulary skills in order to receive my Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctorate degree from Columbia University School of Law. Additionally, application of my strong vocabulary skills aided me in obtaining a Diploma and a Certificate of Supervision Administration and Educational Leadership from Baruch College. In order for me to earn these designations it was imperative that I possess a strong vocabulary to express myself. In addition, I have been in charge of Spelling Bees, and prose and poetry writing classes, to mention a few. As a tutor, I have taught many students vocabulary skills from per-school to college, on a one-to-one basis.
