I am a PhD. in Pharmaceutics candidate nearing my graduation in a few months. I currently tutor at the Academic Resources Center ARC at my University and have been tutoring General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology, Pharmaceutics, Advanced Pharmacokinetics, Algebra, Precalculus, Physics, and several other undergraduate and graduate courses for 5 years. I can provide recommendation letters from both students and the Director of the Academic Resource Center upon request.
For the past two years, I have also taught a short course at the University of North Carolina School of Pharmacy to graduate students and students from the industry. A copy of the teaching certificate along with recommendations can also be provided. I have also been a teaching assistant for the undergraduate chemistry and pharmacy labs.
Prior to tutoring in the University, I have tutored privately for more than 5 years with students as young as 8 years old. Being able to connect with my younger students is one of the the things that really sets me apart. The students from Pre-K to high school see me as a friend and with my enthusiastic and energetic approach, I'm also able to hold on to their attention and keep them looking forward to the tutoring sessions!
I've had the great pleasure and experience of tutoring students from schools such as Friends Seminary, The Birch Wathen-Lenox School, United Nations International School, Trinity School, York Prep, St. Ignatius Loyola Parish school, Eleanor Roosevelt Highschool, Brooklyn Technical Highschool, The Montclair Kimberley Academy, McNair Academic Highschool, New York University, Cornell University, St. Johns University, Pace University, Sophie Davis School of Medicine and several other high school and university students. I've realized that no matter how rigorous the requirements throughout the school year are, the key to academic success is in mastering study skills and organization, and thoroughly understanding the subject matter. Although I never promised grades, I've been successfully able to implement these in all my students and they all have done very well in terms of grades.
I am very patient and I love teaching. It brings me great joy when I am able to help a student understand something and it makes my day when my students notify me that they've done well on their quizzes and tests. I am flexible, however I do require a 24 hour notice for cancellations. I look forward to being your tutor.
