I've been a professional actor for many years, so I am very good at communicating with people. I have a very warm, outgoing, fun personality and can make the dry subject of math very interesting.

I have recently earned my Master of Arts in Mathematics after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Mathematics. I minored in Logic. My Math GPA was 3.83 and overall GPA was 3.88. I belong to Phi Beta Kappa, the Golden Key Society, Pi Mu Epsilon (the national Mathematics Society), and MENSA, the international high IQ society. I also made the Dean's list in almost every term, and was the recipient of many scholarships.

I know that most math teachers are terrible! I've had them myself. So I am extremely good at making math clear. I absolutely believe that working specific examples as opposed to just going over theory is the most important way to clarify concepts. I have tutored privately for a number of years and I can see where students usually go wrong and I know how to get to the root of the problem.

Algebra 1

I have tutored Geometry for several years. I am very adept at getting students to see how the angles, proportions, lines and shapes are related to one another. The mental visualization of shapes and lines the student learns when I teach them the principles of geometery are crucial to their studies and are easily applied to other areas of math, when needed. Trigonometry

I am a believer in teaching why unit circle trigonometry is so useful, how it is related to basic triangle trigonometry and where it comes from. I have tons of experience teaching this subject because it is an integral part of most Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus courses.

SAT Math

I have tutored the Mathematics portion of the SAT numerous times in the past. Throughout, I discuss solving strategies with the student, so that they understand what to expect and how to approach the questions.
