Thank-you for looking at my profile. I am an experienced tutor with seven years of experience in a whole range of subjects. I love working with people of all ages. I have helped several students prepare College Admissions applications, both to Universities in the US and the UK. My background and interest in Theater have allowed to me coach individuals on public speaking, particularly those who are learning English as a foreign language.
I really believe that a good tutor can help provide not only technical expertise, but focus on helping instill a sense of confidence in students which keeps them in good stead during their time in university and afterwards. This is primarily what I aim to do. I have always developed friendships with my students, and they have often consulted me for issues beyond academic help - and I think creating that sense of trust is essential to a good learning environment.
I've always had a passion for Art and Science, and my background and training have intensely focused on these two. I graduated from Princeton University with a degree in Art History and Fine Arts, and a minor in Chemistry. I have a strong interest in social justice, particularly health-behaviour change. I received a Master in Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have since worked in India and Cambodia on Water Sanitation Issues. I currently work at Columbia University as a researcher focusing on water sanitation issues in central West Africa.
