My BA plus two years of graduate training in linguistics enables me to teach linguistic anthropology--the relationship between language and society.
I have a BA plus two years of graduate training in linguistics. I worked as a tutor with ESL populations at the Reading/Writing Center of City University, and as an ESL classroom instructor at Columbia in the summer school program.
I love grammar and am convinced that I can find a unique approach that makes my students see the fun in it. I have graduate training in linguistics as well as a bachelors in linguistics and have helped students with English, Spanish and Russian grammar since 2006. I also volunteered as a grammar teacher at Columbia University. I'm tri-lingual and can relate well to ESL students.
My undergraduate degree is in linguistics. Literature has been my passion and hobby from a very young age.
As a college teacher, I grade hundreds of essays every semester and have been doing this since 2007. My education in linguistics and experience working at the writing center at City University of New York make me a skillful proofreader and editor. I pay attention to detail and have a keen knowledge of grammar, vocabulary and style. I would love to transmit these skills to you.
Since 2007, I have worked as a college teacher. I teach languages, philosophy and humanities courses. Public speaking is what I do many times a week in order to convey my ideas clearly and effectively to students. In addition, I have graduate training in philosophy, a big part of which is having debates which require skilled public speaking. I can teach you the skills you need to be an effective public speaker.
As a college teacher, I know that many students struggle with reading comprehension. Since 2006, I have worked with diverse students, ESL students and special needs students on improving reading comprehension and becoming more effective readers.
I have a master's degree in philosophy, which includes a study of religion, specifically the differences in the belief systems of the world's religions.
I speak Russian. I have a BA in linguistics, and two years of doctoral work in theoretical linguistics. Russian coursework includes Advanced Russian Grammar.

I have had success preparing students for the TOEFL at the writing center of city university. I can help you train for all four parts of the TOEFL.
Vocabulary is very important for speaking and writing effectively. I have graduate training in linguistics and have helped students from all kinds of language backgrounds improve their vocabulary since 2006,--including vocabulary for the purposes of the GRE and the TOEFL. As a college teacher, I know that writing is the biggest issue for many students. I write academically as well as for pleasure. I have training in linguistics and would love to help learn how to plan, organize and express yourself with the written word. I worked with diverse students and ESL students since 2006 on structuring essays.
