I am a former lawyer who now works as a photographer. I love to teach what I am passionate about--photography, Photoshop and Spanish. I used to work in Spain and am fluent in Spanish. I love to impart my knowledge to those with the desire to learn. I am extremely patient and recognize that each student learns differently. Thus, I usually try various methods, be them visual, written and most importantly, first-hand experience. I also think it's important to engage a student through his/her interests. So if, for instance, a student who needs to learn Spanish loves sports, then I would try to incorporate what needs to be learned into sports-oriented information (be it a conversation on one's favorite team, a newspaper article about a sport, etc.).
For photography, I encourage students to DO everything and also to WRITE IT DOWN, as my own experience has showed me how easy it is to forget something if you don't practice it everyday (my written notes have saved me!).
