I love working with students and helping them fall in love with the topic at hand. I have experience working with emerging readers and young students just figuring out how to interpret the words, ideas and concepts all around them. I also love working with older students--high school and college aged--who are tackling a Shakespeare play or a complex writing assignment that is giving them a hard time.
Whenever I am working with students, from the earliest learners to adults, my sense of humor, patience, and theater background allow me to approach a familiar topic in a brand new way. I take great pride in helping students make connections and allowing them to approach the work differently. I love being a tutor and meeting students at their point of need and in the environment of their choice--at home, at their school, at a library, at Starbucks or over the phone- by working on a task, like learning a monologue for an audition, figuring out vowel sounds or writing a college essay my students and I share authentic learning experiences and grow with each session and meeting.
