My daughter signed up for a session with Manny to go over trigonometry in preparation for a school test. We covered a variety of problems very efficiently and Manny was able to suggest a number of shortcuts and techniques that saved my daughter from memorizing a huge amount of unnecessary material. His use of Skype was terrific - we could see what he wrote just as if he was a teacher with a blackboard, and we could print out his notes and even listen back to a recording of the session. We have just signed up for a block of hours with him for more sessions.

His use of web ex is an innovative approach in respect to tutoring. It promotes the ease of scheduling and accessibility as it can basically be done anywhere with a paper, pen and a computer/ipad/iphone with access to internet services. The beauty of this is that the student receives a link to the recording that can be saved and viewed as needed. It also provides a sense of accountability. The parent can review the recording if they so choose to and are able to observe the interaction and level of involvement. Manny requires them to demonstrate their understanding of the material before proceeding to any thing else. He continually asked her questions, kept her focused and gave her ongoing encouragement. She can't wait to work with him again.

Having recently moved to the area my son struggled with equations and some other unit that they didn't cover at this previous school. Manny was very responsive and explained his way of tutoring over Skype clearly as I was quite hesitant at first how that would work.
Not only was he able to hold my son's attention for over an hour, but my son completely 'owns' this unit now. He came out of the session excited, confident and found Manny to be fantastic in explaining, easy to understand and was stunned with the split screen skype session "Very cool"!
Manny provided him with a very helpful website for extra work and recorded the whole session so my son can go back at any given time to review. Very handy!

Manny's approach to my GRE prep is unconventional but very helpful. He let me do basics and more focused on my weak points. If you need him at any time, he can be reached by text and get to you very quickly. He is not particular with his time. He can extend his services without extra payment. I am working on a Master's degree and needed help with a biostatistics course. I was lost. Manny contacted me immediately when I submitted my request for a tutor via Wyzant. As a matter of fact, he was the only one who contacted me. He was very flexible with his hours and was extremely accommodating. Apart from knowing everything about your course, Manny is extremely flexible. If you need him, he will respond no more than 30 minutes later. He is also flexible to meet you at any location. The best thing however is his teaching method. Manny makes all handwritten notes on his computer, and can therefore send you everything discussed after the lesson. If you should have additional questions, he will come on skype and continue teaching you via Screenshare.

Manny helped with an AP statistics homework assignment and was able to provide help very quickly - he said he would do it right away and he did. Anyway, I've had a lot of trouble finding help on difficult math and appreciated the help. My 10th grader was struggling in honors integrated math. Normally a great student, he had practically given up. His class is being taught by a novice who is very nice but I found Mannys profile and was intrigued. My son was uncomfortable at first with the idea, but Manny had the option of tutoring via webex. My son loves video games and was open to webex. This option was fantastic. He was more comfortable talking via computer instead of meeting a stranger in person. Manny records the session and my son was able to download and save. He then reviewed these sessions later in the week. After two sessions my son was back to earning A(s) on his tests. More important Manny was able to explain more and adjust to my son's individual learning style. My son feels he is learning more in 1 hour a week with Manny than through regular classroom instruction. He's the best.

After taking the Kaplan Advanced course I felt like I was still lacking in multiple ways that their course did not address. Manny was a great tutor and had a tremendous amount of material to review. I would absolutely recommend Manny. To be honest, my first impression before meeting him was that his reasonable hourly rate would reflect a less capable tutor. Not so. He's driven and was able to tackle any GMAT problem he encountered. His apps allow you to quickly organize tricky word problems and isolate necessary variables. My score increased from a 610 in my practice tests to a 710 by test day after two months of hard work and partnering with Manny.

Manny has done a great job helping my child get back on track with her confidence in math in just 3 sessions. She has a teacher who presents the information in a way that makes it difficult for her to get all the concepts. Manny simplifies things and has her understanding the material. He knows the information, and doesn't mind if she asks him to slow down to clarify points. He goes over it until she gets it.
We plan to have him continue for the rest of the year to reinforce and give additional clarification and problems to work through. I am hopeful he will be tutoring her for the SAT this spring and summer.
