Hello! My name is Nadia, and I am currently a student at NYU.
I thoroughly believe that every student has the potential to progressively get better at any subject, but to achieve that goal, the student must be aware of what is actually limiting him or her from succeeding in that subject area.
Each student learns in a very particular way. Because of this, there is no short-cut or one-method-fits-all solution to helping a student get better at a subject. I will help students to determine the best method for them to learn, study, and review the material that they are having trouble with. My initial visit consists of an evaluation of students in reference to the subject they need assistance with and a plan of action for the students and the parents. I need to understand how the students learn, how they prefer to study, and any concerns they have about the subject they are having trouble with. Tutoring/mentoring of the particular subject matter can begin that very session.
By working one on one with you or your student, I will help you determine the right way to really achieve your goals.
I also believe that you should get to know your tutor to determine if they are the right person for your student. Here's a little more information about me:
I am a Comparative Literature student in the College of Arts and Science at NYU. I am the Vice President of NYU's Policy Debate Team and have been a competitive, national policy debater since freshman year of high school. I founded The Feminist Society at NYU and am currently a co-President. I am also a photojournalist for NYU Local and consider photography one of my favorite hobbies. I hope to go to law school after graduating from NYU.
Please contact me for additional information and for references. Best of luck to everyone searching for the right tutor!
