I truly enjoy teaching and making subjects more approachable and fun than they appear to be; I believe that is one of the major keys to success in tutoring for both the student and tutor. With over four years of private tutoring experience, I have developed a highly effective method of teaching. It is important for me to relate the material to the student in a way that is tailored to their particular skill level and learning style. Everyone learns in a different way and at a different pace. I don't believe in forced memorization and regurgitation -- it simply doesn't work.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. My subject range is broad as I have not only studied a variety of subjects to fulfill my own personal thirst for knowledge, but also taken many advanced courses in mathematics, biology, physics, literature, psychology and history. Throughout my career, I have tutored over a hundred students at many educational levels; from elementary school through graduate level. In addition, I have years of experience tutoring both SAT and ACT verbal and math sections as well as the entire GRE.
Teaching is one of my biggest passions and one of the things I do best. I am confident that I can exceed you or your child's expectations. As a private tutor I have upheld a track record that reflects my passion for motivating students to push past their expectations of themselves and their capabilities. I have improved students scores on standardized test by at least 150 points and given them the tools to raise their grades by at least one letter grade or better. Based on my experience, I can guarantee improvement for all students.
