Hello! My name is Dheeraj and I'm a graduate of Swarthmore College. Through the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows Program, I've taught as a high school math teacher at the W. B. Saul Agricultural and Murrell Dobbins High Schools in Philadelphia. My previous experiences with education have been through The Johns Hopkins University CTY Summer Program as a Resident Assistant and Teaching Assistant. I have also volunteered after-school in an underprivileged middle school in Chester. I currently work with Veritas Prep, but have also taught through The Yale Academy, an organization, similar to Kaplan or Princeton Review. As a student, I've scored extremely well on my SAT (Math - 800) and middle and high school subjects (A student). I truly believe I have the qualifications to help you or your child with math and other subjects mentioned below:
Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Prealgebra, Precalculus, Trigonometry, SAT, ACT, Praxis, and GRE.
I am an established tutor in WyzAnt with over 80 student ratings, averaging almost a 5.0.
My passion for teaching stems from my ability to educate and help people understand concepts in a practical way. As a public high school math teacher, I had significant experience seeing where exactly students got stuck. From my time teaching, I have accumulated many resources from various websites, books, and articles to holistically address these problems. I believe I can present seemingly difficult math concepts in a very tangible and understandable manner. The key is to put it into real-world situations, which are actually meaningful and tangible to us.
I enjoy teaching on a 1-on-1 basis as well as in small groups. It is a very rewarding experience. I am confident I can help you improve your understanding and application of the subject matter and do well in school as well as in SAT or any other standardized test. Whether your goal is to get better at high school or middle school or do better in SAT/Praxis or any other exams, you will find me a great resource.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I could be of any help. I look forward to working with you.
