I earned a B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Government from Utica College in 2009. I am in the process of obtaining a Master of Arts in Teaching from SUNY Empire State College.
During the day I work as a Certified Teacher's Assistant for the Utica City School District. I am an AIS reading/math assistant. In the past, I worked with students struggling in middle school mathematics. I also have experience working with students with disabilities. I worked at a middle school assisting students with individualized education plans (IEPs). I spent time tutoring as an undergraduate at MVCC. I also volunteered my time to assist students at the college level prior to becoming a peer tutor. I am trying to branch out and start tutoring using Skype or other online services that will allow me to tutor people over a distance. I hope you consider choosing me as your child's tutor or as your own personal tutor. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
A little more about me...
I know how hard chemistry is for people because I myself struggled with it both in high school and college. I found an effective way to learn the material and I plan to pass it on to my future students and to the people that I tutor. I began my college studies at Mohawk Valley Community College as a Biology major. My first semester I dropped chemistry because I found it to be very difficult. My second semester I changed my major to Public Policy but continued to study Biology because I excelled in it. After being awarded a scholarship in biology and not being a biology major I decided that I was going to give Chemistry another chance the following year. I did, and I ended up doing extremely well in Chemistry and liked it even more than Biology. I worked a lot harder the second time around in chemistry than I did the first time. After 2.5 years at MVCC I transferred to Utica College and declared a major in Chemistry and graduated in 2009.
