Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience working with children ages 7-16 years old. I have worked in a summer camp. I teach religion (3rd grade), and I have past tutoring experience. I am currently a master's student at Queens College studying to be certified as a elementary school teacher (grades 1-6). In my undergradute career, I studied child development, literacy, and math for elementary school teachers.

General Music

I have been in a choir for the past 5 years at Queens College and have taken several basic theory courses as well. I have also taken music history and have had voice lessons in the past.

Phonics

As a master student I have knowledge of the different approaches of teaching children how to read and to use either the sounding-out method or the sight reading method.

Religion

My experience with this subject comes from teaching third grade religion (Catholic school). I also was the president of the Catholic Newman Club at my college. However, my involvement with an inter-faith organization as helped me to acquire knowledge of other religions as well.

Public Speaking

I have experience working with a speech and debate team in high school. I was both a coach as well as part of the team. I have worked on preparing for competitions and helping others with pronunciation.

Sociology

I have a B.A. in sociology with a G.P.A of 3.8. I have taken coursework and statistics in sociology and specialize in women and family studies.
