Having just graduated from SUNY Cortland -- a college filled to the brim with aspiring teachers -- I've come to learn and see the value in not only being able to know how to read but also being able to think about and critically reflect upon the material at hand. My college career has prepared me with the critical thinking skills that have made me a better reader, writer and thinker by teaching me how to think, instead of what to think. Over the course of my four years, I was engaged in an after school homework help program and made team leader on a major multimedia campaign to save a community pool -- a site renovation that will one day house a community learning center.
I hold a true passion for learning and fervently believe that knowledge exists everywhere. Learning not only how to read, but how to write and think clearly are skills that are necessary not only in the English world -- but everyday life. I look forward to helping fellow students engage with materials in new ways -- ways that enhance comprehension and long lasting retention.
