I am a certified NY teacher who currently teaches Kindergarten to 4th grade Spanish at a private school. I am energetic and creative. I can and truly enjoy teaching with songs, dances, and through acting. It is easy for me to explain and help memorize vocabulary through word associations. I have studied in Spain, Costa Rica, and Ecuador. I have traveled to Mexico, Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Thus, I am able to differentiate speaking styles and vocabulary, and cultural aspects. I love to teach and I am very passionate about the subject matter. While being empathetic, I am able to identify and solve problems due to my own experiences learning Spanish. A prior student used to dislike Spanish until we started working together. He has excelled in his Spanish class and he is considering taking Honors Spanish in high school.

Student teacher: Ronkonkoma Middle School and Connetquot High School. Spring 2010

Designed creative lessons for 38 10th graders around my upcoming trip to Ecuador. Students were motivated to research culture and travel based on a real event that was to take place.

Utilized technology in the classroom to model dialects and to assess comprehension.

Taught the health unit through relative and engaging multimodal activities.

Guided 8th graders through simulated trip to Madrid, Spain, as a form of teaching the travel unit.

ACADEMIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Explored the history of Cuba and wrote a 30-page thesis in Spanish, resulting in an A. Fall 2009 with St. Joseph's College
