Sometimes students need to hear things in a different way for them to understand. I realize that so I try to get to know my students enough to find out which approach I should take when tutoring. Everyone is different.
I graduated last May as a biology major. I actually tutored my classmates and underclassmen while I was in undergrad. I also have experience tutoring students from the 7-11th grade in English, reading, math, and science. I like to keep my sessions light so that my students don't feel stressed out and can think clearly. We always have a good time. I believe learning should be fun. The feeling of accomplishment you get after understanding something that you didn't get before is indescribable and something every student should experience.
