Marsha H. is an accomplished educator and woodwind player whose stylistic expertise spans the gamut of Latin, Funk, Jazz and Rock. In addition to her Bachelor of Music from the University of the Arts, she holds a Masters in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music.
Marsha teaches all ages privately on saxophone, flute, clarinet and recorder. She has been teaching for over 20 years on the East Coast. Her expertise includes transcription, composition, jazz arrangements and general music.
Through the years Marsha has taught for the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music, New York Pops, Midori and Friends, Manhattan School of Music, the Collegiate School and Harlem School of the Arts.
Marsha has shared the stage with Grover Washington, Bill Watrous, Bob Mintzer, Randy Brecker, John Stubblefield, George Gee and “Make Believe Ballroom Orchestra” and with Paul Schaefer with the CBS Orchestra in a guest appearance on The David Letterman Show. In and around New York City, she plays with her own ensemble, “Marsha H. and the Project of Love,” performing in both private and public venues. She performs regularly at the renown Garage Cafe in the West Village, NYC. She is thrilled to have recorded her debut CD “One Night” in 2007 with Blue Toucan Records. She is currently recording her second CD to be released in 2013.
