I am a certified ESL teacher for grades K-12 in the State of New York. I received my Masters degree in TESOL in May 2009. I am an ESL high school teacher in Long Island. I worked in a Fortune 500 company as a learning and development specialist for 13 years. While I did my student teaching I tutored a middle school student from Mexico who did not speak English. After about 2 months he was able to understand simple greetings, he learned the alphabet, the colors, and other pertinent skills in order to communicate with his peers. I have mentored high school students as well as business professionals in my company. I assist them in completing career goals. I have created multiple multicultural programs and have trained facilitators to deliver these programs as well. I believe that aside from school instruction, tutoring is essential for students who wish to improve or further their learning capabilities.
