Business Administration was my minor at SUNY Albany. I have an Associate's Degree in Business Administration from Clinton Community College with a 3.88 GPA.
As a 31-year veteran of the restaurant business I have worked in ALL areas where food is concerned. Fine dining restaurants, industrial and commercial kitchens, large hotels, privately owned companies, pizzarias, organic food kitchens, breakfast only diners, and high volume catering outfits are just a few working environments I have experienced throughout my career.
As a teacher of the culinary arts, I am also one of its most dedicated students. Something has to be learned every day, or the day isn't as productive as it could be. That's my philosophy about cooking: be a student every day!! So, if cooking is either your passion or your future profession, please share in my enthusiasm for food. You'll leave feeling like you accomplished A LOT!
As a graduate from SUNY Albany with a major in Economics, I have a serious passion for what most would consider a very difficult and dry subject: Economics.
As a former empoyee with Huntington Learning Schools in Fayetteville, NY, I have had the priviledge of making a difference in the lives of dozens of inner city students from the Syracuse area. These young students ranged in age from 5 (kindergarten) to 14 (grade eight). The Fayetteville branch of HLC has received top honors as having the #1 rated learning school of all the HLC's across the country.
After spending a year working with K-6 students at Huntington Learning Center in Central New York, I have come to LOVE working at the Elementary school level. I am in awe of their efforts, and of how hard all the students try to improve. Therefore, it is with great honor that I offer my services to those in need of Elementary Math help.
After spending the better part of my life as an exercise enthusiast, I got certified as an athletic instructor at SUNY New Paltz back in 1994. It was here when I realized I had a knack for understanding how nutrition affects the performance of an athlete. I am without question one of THE most conscientious and healthiest eaters I know. In addition to holding these qualities to be sacred, I have helped those who train as runners, tri-athleletes, weight lifters and much much more to become more aware of the science of nutrition and how it affects us mentally, physically, and spiritually.
Back in 1971 my father, Ralph, won the most prestigious Bridge tournament in the U.S.: The Golder Pairs. It was then, and also after learning of how successful he was winning thousands of dollars per year playing poker, that I took an interest in card playing. As a young boy I would stay up late watching, learning, and afterward playing against him and his adult friends at the card table. By the time I turned 21 I had already played in hundreds of poker games and had established myself as a ranking intermediate player.
About 10 years ago I discovered "No-Limit-Texas-Hold-Em" and have been participating in table games locally and otherwise. About 2 weeks ago I participated in an online tournament with over 6,000 total participants and finished in the top 10% in 617st place! My home is a welcome area to those of all ages who wish to learn good poker playing!! My goal in the near future is to qualify for the WSOP Grand Championship as soon as possible. So, if this sounds attractive to any of you, let's get a game started!!
Of all the subjects offered in school, math scores seem to weigh most heavily on the minds of would-be college administrators who look at applications submitted by students these days. It is with great honor that I offer my help and expertise in ALL areas of mathematics; especially SAT math.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. Academic success isn't far away!
This year I celebrate the beginning of my third successful year tutoring SAT test preparation for Wyzant. The amount of required preparation for this area of learning is staggering, yet I take it on graciously; teaching/tutoring is a labor of love!
