Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

I can do and teach any Math before Calculus (and Calculus might be included soon too). I excelled in high school Math getting As, as well as a 760 on the Math SAT.

Algebra 1

I excelled at high school math, getting As.

Algebra 2

I excelled at high school Math, getting As. I scored a 100 on the former Sequential Math Course III Regents, which was the equivalent of the current Algebra 2 and Trigonometry Course.

Astronomy

I got As in College Astronomy courses, and Astronomy is one of my hobbies. I regularly look at planetarium programs and apps to see what is in the sky at the moment.

Elementary Math

Besides getting "A"s in high school Math, and a 760 on the SAT Math, I have always been strong all around in Math including when I was in elementary school. I have experience teaching 4 year olds in other subject areas, and I work well with young students.

Elementary Science

Science was one of my strong subjects, and I am keen on figuring out how things work in the world, and I am very good at explaining my thought process to others.

Geometry

I excelled at high school Math, getting "A"s, and Geometry comes very naturally to me.

Grammar

I excelled at Grammar and I have helped people edit and revise written material for grammar.

Music Theory

I have been playing Piano for 21 1/2 years and Saxophone for 18 years. I have studied a variety of music from classical to Jazz and I intimately know all Music Theory and can apply it to any song. I know chords, intervals, structure, progressions, etc. I have used it in writing my own songs, as well as improvising on other songs.

Piano

I have been playing Piano for over 21 years, and teaching Piano for over 11 years. I have had students of all age ranges from 4 year olds to teens to adults. I teach any style of music, but I specialize in Music Theory, Jazz, R&B and Improvisation.

Prealgebra

I excelled and got "A"s in Prealgebra, and I can easily teach it to others.

SAT Math

I scored 760 on the SAT Math, and I excelled in high school math.

Saxophone

I have been teaching Saxophone for over 11 years, and playing Saxophone for over 17 years. I have had students of all age ranges from elementary school students to high school students to adults. I teach all types of music but I specialize in Jazz, R&B, music theory and improvisation.

Trigonometry

I excelled through all of high school Math, including Trigonometry, getting "A"s and scoring 100 on what used to be the old Sequential Math Course III regents.
