I believe every student has the potential to excel in academics, once the child's learning style is identified. As a tutor, my unique approach lies in the ability to dissect key concepts so students can first grasp the fundamentals on which they will successfully build the skills necessary to master the subjects they struggle with. My philosophy is that no one is a failure seeing my belief is that, "failure is success turned inside out" and I have proven this by patiently working with each individual based on his / her needs to get them to discover their untapped potential and master the subject.

First I take the time to understand the student's needs. Then remove the mental blockage that a particular subject is difficult or impossible to learn. Once this is done then I focus on getting the student to master the fundamentals of the subject and from that point the rest is usually a breeze with some practice and dedication.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Special Needs

I work with children with special needs in my current position as a child and family therapist. I also hold a master's in psychology and a master's in social work. I have been working with students with special needs in other entities for the past 5 years.

Great tutor. — My son was not doing well in school. Once Marsha began tutoring, he started being happier And more hopeful to being able to complete his school work. Marsha is excellent. She is very patient and able to see my son's weak points and help him deal with his difficulties better. Thanks! ...
