Yesterday was a long but great and productive day. I conducted a 4 hour ELA and Math Preperatory from 9am - 1pm for grade 3 & 4. At 1:30pm - 5:30pm was the next session for grade 5, 6 & 7. After each test, my friend Dona and I would look at the areas of concern for each child and try to help them improve. If the student had all right or very close then that student would proceed to the next test. The students of each session were give two short breaks, at this time they could share their thoughts, quick laughs, eat their snacks (we provided refreshments), and then on to the next phase of practice exams.
Most students struggle with writing regardless of grade or schools. We had two students who attend private school. A couple of students had to stay a little longer than 4 hours so we could assist them some more with their writing and fractions. Over all, the students told us that they thought the sessions were good, and that they feel much more confident to take the upcoming exams. We will be conducting another on Saturday, April 30. Hope to see you there or email me if your child needs more one on one help. Most of the students are my regulars from tutoring with a couple of new referrals.
