Hello! I'm Martha, a recent graduate of SUNY Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. During my 4 1/2 years of college education, I also attended Ithaca College for 2 years, where I majored in Cinema & Photography (concentration in Still Photo), and the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain for a year-long Language Teacher Training Partnership scholarship program.
My past tutoring experience includes voluntary services proofreading and grammar/spelling/vocabulary help in English for native German, Spanish/Catalan, Dutch, and Czech speakers. I also worked at IC Intercambios, through which I met every week with a 22-year-old Spanish-speaking individual from Mexico and taught him English.
I was also lucky enough to have had an internship working with children ages 5-10 in an elementary school just outside of Barcelona, Spain while living there. During my time at the school, I assisted the on-site English teacher during her classes and helped her create handouts and activities that facilitated language learning.
I am a very personable, outgoing individual, and I find that the combination of a positive outlook and real-world applications makes teaching effective and learning easy!
