I am a senior at Cornell University where I am studying astronomy and biology. I have a great passion for teaching and was a tutor at our Physics Learning Center. I like to work one-on-one with students to really see how they are thinking about a subject and how they approach a problem. That way I can fit my teaching methods to match the student's exact needs. While some may need help with a concept, others may require advice in how to approach problems.

In tutoring many students, I have seen various kinds of issues, and have had the pleasure to see the students come to excel in subjects that had given them trouble in the past. I look forward to helping anyone who requires it!

I took Math 150 and Math 152 (Calculus 1 and 2) through Mesa College and received an A in both classes. Since then, I have taken many calculus based courses (both mathematics and physics) at Cornell University. I still use calculus every day in my major.

Chemistry

I took Honors Chemistry in high school and earned an A. In addition, I took General Chemistry at the University of Arizona and earned an A. My professor was great, and I feel I achieved an excellent conceptual understanding.

Soccer

I started playing club soccer at Albion Soccer Club when I was 8 years old. At 14 I switched to FC Bratz Soccer Club where I played until I graduated high school. I now play recreationally in college. I think I will be a great soccer tutor for any young aspiring soccer player.

Discrete Math

I took Math 245 (Discrete Mathematics) through Mesa College and received an A grade. The course was rigorous and consisted of weekly problem sets, multiple midterms, and a final. I have kept the textbook for this subject and can work effectively with students to help them understand discrete math concepts.

Differential Equations

I have taken Math 2930 (Differential Equations for Engineers) at Cornell University and received an A grade. The class was three lectures per week with one discussion section per week. In discussion section we took quizzes every other week. There were three problem sets due a week. Two preliminary examinations and one final.

Art History

I took AP Art History in high school, received an A grade, and scored a 5 on the AP test. I also took an Art History writing seminar at Cornell University called "A Sea of Islands: Art and Identity in the Pacific" and received an A grade.

Linear Algebra

I took Math 2940 (Linear Algebra for Engineers) at Cornell University and received an A- grade. The class consisted of three lectures per week and one discussion section per week. There were weekly problem sets, two preliminary examinations, and one final exam. A reference from the professor can be obtained if necessary.

Microbiology

I took BIOMI 2900 (Microbiology) at Cornell University and earned an A grade. Course topics included, but were not limited to gram negative bacteria, gram positive bacteria, bacterial metabolic and catabolic pathways, and basic immunology. My professor was excellent and I feel I gained a good understanding of the concepts. I feel capable of passing on this understanding to other students.
