Looking for an experienced tutor who has helped both struggling and more successful students, middle school through college graduate level, to raise their grades and maximize their exam scores? Would you like a tutor who was trained in both social studies and literacy (reading and writing) instruction at one of the top programs in the country? Do you or your child need assistance with study skills, writing, reading comprehension, or the massive amounts of terms/vocabulary required by the Global/World/European History and SAT/GRE exams? Did you take a large SAT or ACT class and now want some additional practice in a one-on-one setting before (re-)taking the exam? Are you struggling to find your voice for your college admissions essay? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please contact me!
Since earning a MA in Social Studies Education from Columbia U. in 2009, I have worked one-on-one with Regents and AP History students, ACT and SAT test takers, middle school students, and even college graduates preparing for the GRE. Under my guidance, students have dramatically raised their social studies grades and/or scores on history and admissions exams. Whether you/your child is taking Global/World History, European History or US Government, studying for the reading / writing / English / verbal sections of an entrance exam, or struggling with a college or graduate school admissions statement, I can assist.
My background also includes studying History and International Affairs at Georgetown, Anthropology at William and Mary, and Middle Childhood education at Stony Brook, in addition to teaching in schools and working at a leading college admissions consulting firm. I am currently certified to teach Social Studies for grades 5-12.
I would love to help you or your child maximize your/his/her success in class and/or in the admissions frenzy! Thank you for considering my services.
