I have a Master of Science Degree in Optics from the University of Rochester, NY and a BS in Photonics. These program were heavily math-oriented. I have completed courses in Calculus II and III with A+ grades. I have also attained A+ grades in Differential equations.
I have taught math at High School Level for some 6 years. I have taught Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus. I have also tutored Physics, Math and English at College level.
In my years of teaching and tutoring students I realize that there are some students who can grasp the material very quickly. There are others, however, who, even though it may take them a while longer to understand the material can become top performers simply by being willing to learn and by being persistent.
I believe in breaking down material into as simple to understand components as possible. Only when a student can grasp the basic underlying reasoning then another layer of complexity should be added on. I also emphasize on performing as much practical exercises as is possible. This enables the student not only to improve his/her grade but enables him/her to gain mastery of the material.
I have also worked in the high-tech industry for many years so I am in a unique position to show importance of Math and Physics in real life situations.
I obtain great satisfaction in enabling students to gain mastery of material and becoming successful.
I have taught math to high school students for some six years. This included Algebra, Geometry, Arithmetic, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I have also tutored these subjects. The problems in Algebra 2, to me, even though they may be more challenging than those for Algebra 1, can be easily mastered with a diligent approach.
I have taught math to high school students for some six years. This incuded Algebra, Geometry, Artihmetic, Trigonometry, and Calculus. Calculus may seem to be the most challenging of these subjects but with enough practice even students with initially low scores can excel at this subject provided there is a persistent effort.
I have taught math to high school students for some six years. This incuded Algebra, Geometry, Artihmetic, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I view Geometry as the most interesting and stimulating of these math subjects. When a particular problem is solved, one gains a real feeling of satisfaction and exhilaration. I try to impart this attitude and approach to geometry to my students.
I have written technical articles, articles for external publications, qualifications plans for metrolgy systems, training manuals and SOPs.
I have also written Invention Disclosures and Fiber Optic test procedures for Standards Bodies and also .
Above all, I am an author of a published book. I did most of the editing and proof-reading of this book.
I have used Microsoft Excel profusely while working for many years in the hi-tech industry. I am also experienced in writing macros in VB to enable automation of many tasks such as data extraction, analysis and display.
I have used Microsoft Powerpoint profusely while working for many years in the hi-tech industry. I have used Powerpoint for many purposes including - one, to effectively communicate results of experiments; to raise the red flag if something has gone wrong in a process; three, for creating slide shows.
I have used Microsoft Word profusely while working for many years in the hi-tech industry. I have also used it for writing a book which has now been published.
I am familiar with many features of MS Word.
I have taught and tutored students precalculus and calculus for several years.
I am confident students' grades in these subjects can improve significantly by some help from me and from a motivation from themselves to better their skills at working problems.
I have taught math to high school students for some six years. This incuded Algebra, Geometry, Artihmetic, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus.
Precalculus and Calculus seem to scare a lot of students. My belief, however,is that with enough practice and some assistance from me, even students with initially low scores can excel at these subjects provided there is a persistent effort.
I am an author of a published book. Proof-reading of this book was performed predominantly by myself.
I have also written technical articles, articles for external publications, qualifications plans for metrolgy systems, training manuals and SOPs.
Needless to say, proof-reading of these documents were performed by myself.
I have also written Invention Disclosures and Fiber Optic Test procedures for Standards Bodies.
I have taught math to high school students for some six years. This included Algebra, Geometry, Arithmetic, Trigonometry, and Calculus. Performing well in SAT Math requires several things: firstly, identify areas of weakness and focus on improving scores there first; secondly, perform as much practice questions as possible to gain a certain level of proficiency; then, thirdly, after one has gained that proficiency, completing all practice exams in the time allotted.
I have used statistics frequently while working in the high-tech industry for more than 10 years. I have used it in determining if products would fail at the customer after certain years of use. From my predictions manufacturing processes have had to be corrected.
Trigonometry is one of the math subjects I have taught to high school students for a number of years. I have also tutored students in this subject. Having worked in the high-tech industry for more than ten years, I can say that trig is particularly important since it solves real life problems.
