I am highly qualified in English literacy training, and ESL, and as a HS English tutor and proctor.
I am a licensed permanently certified NYS teacher of the speech language and hearing handicapped, K-12. I presently work and have worked with Aspergers students at our program in Eastport south Manor E. Suffolk Boces program. I evaluated, assess, and perform therapy intervention in all aspects of the student's IEP process: writing skills, reading comprehension, oral expression, auditory comprehension, vocabulary, etc, to help align students with all aspects of the Common Core Curriculum.

Hard Of Hearing
I am a 30 year experienced NYS Speech/language/Hearing pathologist who has taught multiple populations of students w/ hearing impairment. I presently work w/ a student possessing bilateral hearing impairment and consult w/ the classroom teacher. I have ASL training/experience.
I work closely w/ special needs students at the secondary education level w/ all aspects of language learning, including phonics, phonology, reading, writing to facilitate learning and readiness for State exams, and assignments. I am a certified TSHH for 30 years. I am qualified in K-12 w/ students w/ special needs as well as reg. ed.
As a licensed speech teacher, I am responsible for turn key training to other colleagues in my field and related, in dispensing information from conventions, conferences, etc. i have attended. I am expected to speak, project, and listen intently to my audience, and do it well. I have presented professional workshops, and exhibitions, guest talks over the past 20 years.
I have proctored NYS Regents Exams w/ special needs populations having multiple testing modifications, for example, extended time, directions read, multiple choice responses read, scribing, and questions re-read, to name a few. The regents I have given to individual and group students were: Reading, Writing, Global, US Gov't, Algebra, and English. I have succeeded in the technical as well as administering of all of the above exams. I am scheduled to proctor for the 5th year in the beginning of June 2013.
I have contracted out with several NYS agencies for work with various special needs populations, ie: autism, aspergers, speech disorders, auditory processing delays, hard of hearing, etc. I have worked w/ developmentally delayed students for 30+ years. I individualize programs according to students needs.
