I am your one stop tutoring resource from high school through medical school.

I am a full-time private educator and science tutor. My background includes a dual degree in Chemistry and Biology, and reserve military service including a tour to the Middle East. I have nearly a decade of experience tutoring students in the sciences from high school level up to college and beyond. I offer private one on one and group sessions.

My students show remarkable improvement after just a few lessons and my steady students have scored top in their classes on exams and standardized tests.

My method of tutoring is based around understanding rather than just knowing. I believe that if I show a student the correct answer they may know it for now, however, if I show the student how to derive the answer by understanding and applying the underlying principles then the student will be able to solve similar and more difficult problems on their own.

In my years of tutoring I have picked up a number of tricks, shortcuts, and funny mnemonics to help students better learn and remember the information. I also use sketches, diagrams, and science models where needed.

ASVAB

I am a US Navy Veteran having served in the Middle East back in 2010.
I scored in the top percentile on my ASVAB (93) and was therefor eligible for nearly EVERY JOB within the Navy.
I will be happy to help you achieve similar goals. With a strong background in the sciences, and first hand knowledge of MEPs, ASVAB and the military in general, I will provide you with all the tools you need to ace the ASVAB, talk to your recruiter, and help you plan your ASVAB strategy.
The ASVAB is a test of concepts, knowledge, and test taking skills. I will teach you the required material, give you homework and study tips, and teach you the tricks of how to answer even the questions you are unsure of.
I have worked with over a dozen students this year alone, helping them pass their exam and prepare for bootcamp. (See my feedback for student references)

Genetics

Genetics is yet another fascinating puzzle in the field of biology. I can help you unravel the mysteries of DNA structure and function, Transcription and Translation, how to properly draw and calculate a punnet square. I can explain to you the methods used to understand DNA including PCR and how and why it works. I will also help you make sense of any homework or lab problem so that you not only arrive at the correct solution, but also help you understand the results so that you can interpret future problems on your own.

MCAT

Pre-Med students. The Medical College Admission test may be the most important standardized exam you take in helping determine your future. The exam not only tests your understanding of the sciences you have slaved away to learn the past few years, it also tests your ability to decipher the questions being asked, and applying the knowledge in a unique and new manner.
I will help you prepare for the exam by ensuring that you have a solid scientific foundation, helping you apply shortcuts and techniques to the posed questions, and showing you how to approach the exam with winning results.

Microbiology

I have a background in biology and chemistry, and have been tutoring Microbiology at the college level for nearly a decade include private tutoring and teaching at the college. I will help you understand the ins and outs of micro, and help you review any related biology/genetics to ensure that you understand the why and how of the material in question

Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry is like a puzzle, quite unlike the mathematical Chemistry that orgo students are typically used to. I have been tutoring organic chemistry for the past few years with great results. I use diagrams, drawings and models to help students understand the reason behind the mechanisms, explain why atoms react the way they do, and pretty much how to put it all together

Regents

As a science and math tutor for nearly a decade, I have helped dozens of students prepare for and enter their regents exams with knowledge and confidence. I will teach you (or your children) the subject material required for the specific regents, and I will also help you with regents strategy and how to make the best of your study and preparation.

Heaven sent!!! Leah is a life saver!! She was able to provide me with a better understanding in a subject that seemed completely impossible.
