I have been in the Education Profession for over 20 years, working with students ranging in age and developmental level. As a School Guidance Counselor, my primary responsibility was to support students in their pursuit for academic success. This involves listening to concerns, assessing strengths as well as weaknesses and guiding them toward their goals. In addition, I provide support to parents/guardians, teachers and other Support Team Members.
The families I have interacted with have come from many different ethnic and economic backgrounds. I have worked with students in a number of capacities including counseling one on one, teaching in the classroom and facilitating small groups. Collaborating with parents/guardians and families as well as coordinating with community agencies are tasks which I am broadly familiar.
I hold a Master’s of Science Degree in Guidance and Counseling and have earned Permanent State Certification in New York and New Jersey. In October of 2003, I was awarded professional tenure by the Yonkers Public School District. In addition, the Institute for Restorative Practices awarded me a certificate in Restorative Practices which complements my training in Response To Intervention. I have also earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Educational Leadership and hold Educational Administration Certification in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
