I have completed a Master's degree in both microbiology and mechanical engineering. My work experience includes 4 years as a microbiologist at the Texas State Department of Health in Austin, Texas. After going back to school, I have worked as a mechanical engineer for the past 25 years. I have mentored many junior engineers during this time with great success. During this time, I have been awarded 4 patents for my designs. In addition, I have been involved in Boy Scouts for over 12 years and have taught high school students in math and physics. From these activities I have developed an ability to teach students from varied backgrounds and abilities. I prefer to follow the instructional methods of the student's teachers for continuity, but can also teach alternative methods for problem solving that may be easier for the student to comprehend. This decision is made on an individual basis. I am available weeknights and on Saturdays.
