Having taught French, Italian and Spanish for over 25 years, it is my opinion that there is no such thing as a poor language student. The responsibility for the student effectively learning a second language lies in the quality of the teaching. With a cum laude degree from Vassar College (French and Italian), a Masters (in French literature) from CUNY and a Certification (in TFLYS) Teaching Foreign Languages to Young Students from Columbia University, I have transformed my passion for romance languages into a career helping students reach their language goals quickly and easily. Today we are aware of the added benefit to studying a romance language: students who excel in a Latin Based language like French, Italian or Spanish often out-perform other students on the ACT and SAT exams. a long track record of helping my students achieve higher grades and test scores for the Proficiency, Regents, SATII and AP Exams in French, Italian and Spanish. I specialize in coaching students of all ages to communicate effectively in their new language, and all this is achieved in a stress-free, enjoyable environment that challenges you to reach for higher goals and communicate in increasingly complex sentences. With my youngest students, we learn through songs, literature, crafts and games, and I use only authentic materials purchased in Europe or Latin America. I tailor your learning program to your individual goals and interests, whether personal or professional and I offer brush-ups sessions for those students planning a trip abroad and who have previous knowledge of the language, but simply want to improve and gain confidence before their trip. Whatever your language need may be, I can help you achieve your goal in a very short time!
