I was born in Taiwan. Therefore, Mandarin is my mother language. I came to the states in 1985 to study Biology. I speak and write English fluently. I have a PhD degree in Biological Sciences and 15 years of post-doctoral research experience. As a result, I am familiar with most of the technical elements as well as the conceptual ideas described in the textbook. I am very patient, and am willing to help until the students "understand" an important concept and how to solve a question.

I love teaching, especially with students that are willing to learn. Members of my family were all teachers. To me, teaching is an extension of myself. I admit that there are obstacles during learing, but once the obstacles are overcome, the joy of accomplishment is really invaluable. I would like to share it with all my students.

Chinese

Chinese is not a hard language in terms of speaking it. Unlike English, there is no difference between subjective and objective pronouns. It is very simple to use verbs as well. There's no present, past, future, past perfect tense for any verb. To use a specific tense, one only needs to decorate the verb with an adverb that is specific to the tense.

Genetics

Genetics is a course to study how traits are transmitted from generation to generation. Classical Genetics (Mendelian Genetics) focuses on the law of segregation and independent assortment that involves mainly probability.
