I am an Adjunct Professor of Physics at SUNY-Farmingdale State College and Adjunct Instructor at Nassau Community College. I have taught at Hofstra University and Polytechnic Institute at NYU. I am working with the United Way of Long Island to teach Robotics to middle school students in Westbury and Freeport. I am a member of the Long Island STEM Diversity Roundtable located at SUNY-Farmingdale. My approach as a tutor is to determine the student's strengths/weaknesses and with patience relate the concepts to the problems. We solve assigned problems together so that the concepts and solutions become clear.

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

As an Adjunct Professor in Physics and qualified instructor in STEM subjects, I have a working knowledge of Algebra and Calculus.

Algebra 2

Algebra is a subject that needs to be learned as a precursor to other math and physics areas. My knowledge of Physics and the related math topics including Algebra, Trig, or Calculus is complete. I have tutored all levels of these subjects.

Calculus

The mathematics of Calculus is used extensively in the teaching of Physics. I am completely familiar with the subjects as it is used in physics courses. I am an Adjunct Professor of Physics ar Farmingdale State College.

Electrical Engineering

Great tutor — I started working with Dr. Charles about a month ago for my Intermediate Business Statistics class (QM122) at Hofstra University. He has been massively helpful, patient, and methodical when explaining/clarifying concepts. I am not naturally a strong math student by any means, but Dr. Charles has enabled me to truly grasp the material to the extent that I even find myself being able to explain con ...
