I have made myself available for tutoring on WyzAnt because I am passionate about teaching and committed to teaching the skills that will help my students succeed at the subjects in which they require assistance. I am a certified English Teacher, I gained my certificate through the Board of Education in 2012, and I have worked as a teacher, tutor, and ESL instructor. Furthermore, I received a cumulative score of 1380 out of 1600 on my SAT test and have had experience in tutoring and teaching students in the subjects of high school mathematics and history. My strengths also include a classical liberal arts and religious school education that includes canonical literature and Hebrew Language. I have also studied Karate for nine years and acting before and during my college years.

Algebra 1

I took the Algebra Regents in high school and scored in the high nineties. I have tutored students in Mathematics and Algebra before on a one on one basis and in groups.

American History

I took AP US History in High School and received a 4 out of 5 on the exam. I also scored in the high 90s on the US History Regents. I am confident in my ability to teach this subject.

Bible Studies

I studied The Bible in a religious school setting for six years through middle and high school. I graduated from the school and continue to study on my own.

Hebrew

I took six years of Hebrew in middle and high school. I have also been to Israel more than 10 times for periods of up to two months. I have family and friends who are citizens including my brother who lived in Israel for two years.

Literature

As an undergraduate student at Marymount Manhattan college, I studied a plethora of dramatic works including much Shakespeare, Williams, O'Neill, and Miller. As a graduate student I have taken courses in British Literature and have read many classical works. When I was in high school I scored a five out of five on the AP Literature exam and I am certified to teach English to grades 7-12 in the city of New York.

Martial Arts

I studied Okinowan Budokan for 9 years and attained the rank of black belt, first degree. I have a knowledge of all self-defense blocks and strikes as well as many forms or katas. This is the basis of my knowledge.

Prealgebra

I am a certified New York City teacher with two years of experience, working with kids on math and reading skills in one on one and group settings, as a tutor and as a teacher.

Public Speaking

I've worked as a teacher, substitute teacher, and actor. Furthermore, I have taken classes in voice and speech and public speaking while gaining my bachelor's degree. I have also spoken while presenting PowerPoint presentations.

QuickBooks

I worked for an e-commerce company. I was required to use QuickBooks to enter inventory and track it. I also used to record customer invoices and payments as well as purchase order from vendors. I can also produce various profitability and sales reports.

Regents

I possess a Regents diploma. I have graded NY Regents exams in English and History. I received grades in the mid to high 90s on all of most of my regents exams. These include Hebrew, Spanish, Algebra, Trigonometry, Environmental Science, Chemistry, US and World History, and Literature.

Religion

I studied Rabbinics and Bible for six years. I attended a Jewish Day School. I also study privately.

Theatre

I received a bachelor's in theater performance from Marymount Manhattan. Before and during college, I took classes in technique, method, scene study, movement and voice and speech. I studied theater at UCLA for a summer as a college study program during high school and have performed in several plays.
