Biology

I was a Neurobiology major and TA in college. In addition, I taught Biology as an MCAT tutor outside of school.

MCAT

I took the MCAT twice before applying to medical school and scored, on average, above 90th percentile on all subject tests. In addition, I have previously tutored MCAT Physics, Writing, Organic Chemistry and Biology to a graduate students preparing for the MCAT and attained good reviews.

Proofreading

I worked as an editor for a number of years in high school and college. I have a natural grasp of English grammar.

Regents

I have gone through all required high school Regents exams and scored above 90% on all of them. In addition, I was selected by my Math, English and Science high school staff to tutor students during the weekends. I have more than 3 years experience tutoring students in the Regents.

SAT Reading

I have a natural talent for the English language and also understand all writing/reading terminology. In addition, I am a published writer and poet. I scored highly on the SAT reading section and understand the basic test-taking strategies needed to attain a high score.

Approved Subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet certified in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
