Hello, I teach English. I am a certified teacher with 10+ years of professional experience. I can help with your grammar, reading, and speaking skills. We can focus on different kinds of English: conversational, academic, or both. I am an expert in accent reduction. I work mostly with adults aged 18 and older.
I am patient. I like all kinds of people. I want to see you improve. I love to see a student finding something new about English, and using new language to express himself or herself. I like to make lessons that use real objects, and real actions in time and space.
My lessons grow from the needs of the student. My goal is to help you be independent, so you will learn outside of tutoring time, too! I believe learning is work and pleasure.
I recently graduated from college (summa cum laude). I use my experiences in school to inform myself about the act of learning. Now I am in graduate school to earn my Master's degree in Teaching English. I hold the Cambridge CELTA Certificate.
Please observe the 24-hr cancellation policy.
I look forward to a message from you, and helping you learn English!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have professionally tutored college students to improve their English language skills. I designed my own lessons and helped students do better on tests. I am a certified ESL instructor, with 10+ years experience in the field. Recently, I graduated summa cum laude from college.
I have been teaching ESL/ESOL professionally for more than ten years. My lessons are learner centered, designed to help a student realize his/her full potential while being fully engaged in his/her own learning process. I hold the Cambridge CELTA Certificate. Currently, I am earning my Master's degree in TESOL.
Teaching grammar is a large part of my responsibility as an ESL tutor. I have an exceptional grasp of the subject, based on my studies in Linguistics while in college, and from my past and current training in ESL teaching. I like to use movable objects to make different grammar structures clear to the learner.
As a graduate of the National Shakespeare Conservatory program for actors, I am professionally trained in vocal production as it relates to the logical, communicative and expressive delivery of texts. I have years of experience transcribing speech into phonemic script based on the International Phonetic Alphabet, and am fluent in reading that script.
I have successfully improved learners' pronunciation of English in classes using my knowledge of phonemics, and Gattegno's Color Chart. I have designed and taught classes geared specifically to accent reduction.
