My unwavering commitment is to make learning a fun and exciting experience for the students. I do this by allowing the student to explore and make decisions as to their course of learning. With close attention to each student developmental level and learning style, I can provide a guiding and supportive resource. Concepts and topics that are difficult to grasp, I make it more accessible through spirited play, music accompaniment, rhythmic poems, peer interaction, and engaging games.
I have 10 years teaching experience in International Baccalaureate (IB) world schools. In these 10 years, I was the mandarin teacher in American International School for 3 years, 4 years in Australian International School. Head of Department of locally renowned International school. I teach 287 students each year during my teaching career that comes largely from America, Australia, UK, New Zealand, France, Germany and a total of 46 other countries.
I hold BA, MA in Chinese Language and Literature and under-going Ph.D. in Research of Chinese Language and Literature. I was a recipient of an Outstanding Dissertation Award (Master) under Beijing Normal University, China. I am qualified for teaching in Singapore with Entry Proficiency Test (EPT) in Chinese approved by the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
I came from China to Singapore and have been residing here for 22 years. Born in China, and became a Singapore citizen, I am quite familiar with, and open to, cultural diversity and foreign languages. As a Chief Editor of a Magazine Publication I speak fluently, and write literary works in Mandarin Chinese. I have knowledge of Malay and Indian cultures.
