I have over 10 years working as an academic professional with children who have been diagnosed with ADD/ADH.
For the last 5 years, I have been an academic professional with Liberty Partnership Program, located at Queensbrough Community College located in Queens, NY. The program supports the academic, social and emotional needs of youth between the ages of 14-17 years olds. My professional/academic effort begins every Saturday for two hours at the college. I am the Youth Development Coach. I help with the formation of job cover letters and resumes/curriculum vitae. In addition, I teach professional interviewing skills which are practiced by students at the annul mock job interview.
For 1 year, I taught an ESL Adult Program. As Head Teacher I taught second level adults who were seeking to learn how to write. I taught at Community Impact Program located at Columbia University. I created lesson plans based on the text book that was provided by the organization
As an agent of change, I continue to teach and mentor children with learning disabilities/emotional disabilities. I have tutored children English, Writing and Language Arts. Through the implementation of patience, creativity and consistency a child can learn. I do understand that sometimes it takes more than just two steps to get a child on the road to success.
