I am a graduate from Carnegie Mellon University. I have a Bachelor of Fine Art in Industrial Design and minor in Fine Art. I am enrolled in Columbia University's Teachers College for a Master's in Art and Art Education to be certified as a New York State Art Teacher.

I specialize in training students in drawing, painting, and creative analytical thinking in preparation for college-art portfolios. I am most interested in taking on mentees or tutees whom I can train and nurture to reach their full potential as artists.

I have taught elementary, middle and high school art classes at the Carnegie Museum of Art, at the YMCA, the YWCA and other private art academies in NYC. I've also tutored students in English, Math and Writing.

I can teach the basics of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.

I am bilingual in English and Korean.

Korean

I am Korean-American and am fluent in Korean, having learned to read, write, and speak Korean at home and at Korean Schools since I was born. I have also taught many Korean students who speak English as a second language. Because I am bilingual, students have felt more comfortable expressing their thoughts with me as their teacher.

Drawing

I have taught drawing skills such as figure drawing, technical drawing, observational drawing and form studies for 7 years from young adolescents to adults. I have taught in classroom settings, small groups, and private one-on-one tutor sessions.

Mentoring students who specifically are interested in pursuing college admissions to art schools, I have trained students for industrial design, toy design, fashion design, illustration, and fine arts.

Painting

I have taught painting for 7 years from young adolescents to adults. I have taught students in using various mediums ranging from oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I have taught in classroom settings, small group sessions, and private one-on-one tutor sessions. I also encourage integrating paint with other mediums to create multi-disciplinary work.

The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
