I love teaching and did so for many years from Pre-K to doctoral level students. I am that "fun" teacher that the middle school and high school kids loved. I have traveled extensively in Central America and spent 16 years on the adjunct Faculty of Saint Johns University in Queens. I was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to teach ESL at the Politecnic University of Nicaragua. have a hands-on practical approach to learning language. I also have a law degree and I am an excellent researcher. I am perfectly bilingual and certified to teach ESL grades K-12 and Spanish 7 through 12. I am also a former elementary school principal so I am quite familiar with the curriculum. In spite of my very serious degree of experience nobody likes to laugh more during learning than I do...

I am extremely well-versed in technology. I used to teach school administrators the applications of technology for both instruction and administration. Again, I make it fun whether you are Pre-K or PhD.

Bar Exam

I took and passed the New York State Bar Exam on my very first try while working full time. I have multiple advance graduate degrees and have been involved in education on the higher-level University and doctoral level for many many years. I am an excellent teacher with a good rapport with students. I am also extremely experienced in working with students whose first language is not English. I am a practicing attorney and have been admitted to the bar of the State of New York since the year 2004. My writing skills have been complemented by judges and lawyers alike.

Bible Studies

I was involved in theological and biblical studies for six years as a seminarian. I have training in reading New Testament Greek and a minor in Theology. I read scripture personally on a daily basis and attend several retreats and conferences per year on the bible and other spiritual literature.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have been involved in K-6 education for over 20 years. In addition to teaching, I have also been an assistant principal, associate principal and principal. I have also been a district level coordinator of ESL. I have been on the adjunct faculty of St. John's University since 1986 in the School of Education. I have taught elementary school subjects in both English and in Spanish.

Phonics

I have done my PHD work at New York University in an area related to language acquisition and phonics. I have taught English for many years and high level skills in sound recognition, spelling, and orthography. I have taken much course work in phonics and have also worked with students with special needs in this field.

Public Speaking

I have been a practicing attorney for 9 years, and have argued both at the Trial Court and Appellate Levels. I have also coached Speech and Debate on the high school level for several years, with several of my students going on to the National Tournament. As a high school student, I myself qualified for the national tournaments in extemporaneous speaking. I am an active lector in my church, and I do professional presentations on the city, state, and national levels.

Regents

I have taught Regents level classes for 32 years. I was on a committee for the writing of Regents in New York State. I have taught in a School of Education training teachers on Regents and other assessments. I have been the director of testing and assessment in several schools and districts.

Religion

I have been a student of religion for almost 50 years. I have a minor in Theology and can read the New Testament in its original Greek. I have traveled and worked as a missionary in Panama and currently do much volunteer work in local churches. I spent six years in formation in a Catholic Seminary. I read prolifically about modern day spirituality and older saints.
