"Amazing and patient."
Nick from Webster, NY on 7/16/13
Jim was a great person and a fantastic tutor. I was a neuroscience major at the University of Rochester and needed to get through Physics E&M. It was an incredibly tough course and I was worried about passing it, an experience I hadn't faced before. Jim contacted me immediately, had a flexible schedule, and was a great teacher. He not only came with his own materials everyday to help make things clearer, but explained topics in a straightforward and concise manner. He even took the time to help me with the calculus that I had trouble with. He is very thorough, and thanks to him I not only passed, but did very well. I would recommend Jim to anyone. I am very thankful to Jim for all his help. Best tutor I could've asked for!

In 1 hour, Jim was able to explain some problems with my son and he understood. His school teacher took all week and he still did not understand. I wish Jim was my son's school teacher.

Steve from Rochester, NY on 12/5/11
The subject matter I needed help with is applied math. Most tutors had turned me away for this reason, but Jim at least gave it a shot. He was well prepared and ready to go. I got a lot more out of our session that I expected, I would highly recommended Jim to anyone needing help. He even called me after the lesson to tell me more info.
I will definitely use him in the future.
"Experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly statistics tutor, who will give you the individualized help you need to see rapid progress. " "
Joan from Rochester, NY on 10/21/11
I attended the Division of Adult Professional Studies at Roberts Wesleyan College. There, I enrolled in the Organizational Management(OM) Program which is a accelerated, adult, degree – completion program.
The course work for the OM program consisted of a Statistical Methods and Research module. Statistics is the study of the collection, organization, analysis, and interpretation of data. Statistics is useful in research, and I was required to use it to help me communicate the results of my research experiments. Statistics could be seen as a very hard subject and I knew I needed a tutor in order to interpret the data that I would be collecting.
I also knew that I needed a tutor to help me understand specific statistical information and apply it with the use of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets. Jim S. showed me the methods for defining, researching, analyzing, and evaluating my research problem that was significant in my professional career.
Jim S. helped me identify and measure objectives, collect data, analyze variance, and construct questionnaires.
I was able to use the information that I collected to support management theories and validate facts. Jim S. was able to explain statistics to me in simple English using concrete examples. Jim S. helped me to interpret my statistical output and formulate conclusions. Jim S. also helped me in preparing tables and graphs for my report. I tackled this difficult subject with ease and received an A in the course. Thanks Jim
"Great tutor very patient and willing to learn new stuff"
La'Shasha from Rochester, NY on 8/6/11
Jim S was willing to work with me on short notice; we met in a public place so that we would both be comfortable. He's very easy to talk to and not afraid to tell you if he doesn't understand whats being asked; that shows me that he's very patient and wants to make sure that we're both on the same page when learning. I like that cause that's being honest with himself and the student. I will call Jim again if i need help and recommend him to others.
"Jim S. Patient, Knows How to Teach Calculus!"
Judy from Webster, NY on 7/29/11
With his firm, quiet way and sense of humor, Jim guided our shy, ADD son to pass his Calculus final with flying colors. Jim really understands Calculus and how to get the material across. He immediately responded to phone, text, or emails. My only regret is that we did not seek Jim's help sooner, as this would have increased our son's year-long comprehension and grades.
