Math is boring! This is often the phrase that many of today’s adolescent students convey to their teachers. With so many students struggling with mathematics it is a small wonder why American students are lagging behind their international counterparts. Part of why students feel that math is boring stems from their gaps. To be successful in mathematics filling the gaps is a must! Much of my experience with teaching mathematics shows that students lack the basics, if they don't understand 6th grade math, we can't expect them to understand high school math. Proper assessments and identifying the weak areas is critical with recovery. With a firm foundation students can master mathematics. I am a NYS certified math teacher 7 - 12, willing to tutor elementary students as well.
