I have limited tutoring availability during this summer (2014). I reside in East Elmhurst, Queens and prefer to tutor within a few miles. Please do not contact me about tutoring if you live significantly far from East Elmhurst.

I began tutoring in spring of 2010 and mainly tutored students in high school algebra and algebra 2 and trigonometry during the academic year. I have some experience tutoring in 6th, 7th and 8th grade math as well. I do not have a great comfort level with 10th grade geometry (including constructions), but am knowledgeable of a good amount of the subject. Also, I do not tutor in PSAT or SAT math because I am not qualified to do so.

I graduated from Hunter College with a master's degree in mathematics education. I am currently a high school math teacher at a public high school in Queens, and have used various strategies in an effort to help students become successful in math.

I absolutely love math and view it as a universal subject that can be applied to many life situations. Many students struggle with this subject, and I have a great desire to help students understand and excel in it for the goal of succeeding not only in school but also for post-secondary pursuits. Based on my tutoring experiences, it brings me great joy for someone to benefit academically because I have helped him or her, and when a student understands a subject, he or she can truly enjoy and appreciate it as something that is valued more than just as a simple requirement to receive a passing grade in school.

For elementary and high school students who need help in the subjects mentioned above, I am very passionate and willing to put in my absolute best effort to help them understand the material and succeed in school. Learning requires hard work, and I am willing to do everything possible to help a student achieve his or her academic goals.

Great Tutor — Paul has tutoring my son in trigonometry for the past six months and has done an excellent job. My son was failing this subject and is now not only passing, but doing pretty well. Paul is extremely conscientious and takes his job very seriously. He is patient while at the same time holds my son accountable for doing his share of the work. I am very impressed with his commitment to his students ...
