Born into a musical family and Suzuki trained at a young age, I do not remember a time when I have not been surrounded by music. I was a member of Buffalo Suzuki Strings (BSS) for 15 years, taking private lesson, playing in group repertoire classes, and performing frequently on solo, group, and community recitals. In 1999, at the age of 6, I attended the 13th World Suzuki Convention held in Matsumoto, Japan. Seven years later I attended the 14th World Convention held in Italy as a guest International soloist. In 2002 I was a select member of the Suzuki of the Americas Convention Orchestra. As the principle cellist of the BSS Advanced Touring Ensemble (2008 - 2011), I toured and soloed with this group in Spain and Argentina and I have been the lead cellist for the BSS Quartet.
I am an alumna of the Greater Buffalo Youth String Orchestra (2003 - 2005), Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra (2006 - 2011), participated in numerous county and state solo festivals and orchestras, and am an active performing member of the Chromatic Club of Buffalo, NY.
I have played in several Master Classes, most recently for Hans Jorgen-Jensen and Julie Albers at the McDuffie & Friends’ Labor Day Festival, September 2011. Others include Amit Peled, Roman Mekinulov, Natasha Farny, Carter Enyeart, Narek Hakhnazaryn as well as the Talich and Audubon Quartets. Each summer I attend a music festival which includes the following: Chautauqua Music Festival (2010, 2011), ARIA (2009), Sewanee (2008), and Green Mountain (2007).
Currently I study with Arie Lipsky, former principle cellist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and current director of the Ann Arbor Symphony. I have just completed my college/conservatory auditions. I will be attending Purchase Conservatory of Music.
My teaching experience includes:
private lessons (Chautauqua Institution, summer 2011)
teacher’s aide (Buffalo Suzuki Strings cello program, 2007-2011)
