I'm Matt, and I may be the ideal tutor for you!
I am currently attending St. John's University as a psychology major. I have experience in tutoring and homework help with students in 1st through 8th grade in the subject areas of English and Language Arts, Phonics, Mathematics, and other elementary school subjects.
In addition to tutoring and homework help, I have been involved in a summer camp day program of which I was one of several head counselors. In this program, I worked with students attending a summer school within the program in the subjects mentioned before.
My approach to tutoring is getting rid of the idea of a student believing they cannot do what it is they have trouble with. I prefer to eliminate the glass ceiling and allow for a more positive mentality when approaching troublesome material. From that point, I encourage a student to tackle the material head-on and supplement what is learned by making it as practical as possible. Each student is different, and this approach I take for tutoring a student is tailored to them. If you are paying for it, it should be worth every dollar, far from a learning experience devoid of true learning and attainment of knowledge.
