QUALIFICATIONS & TEACHING STYLE:
For the past six years I have worked as a middle school math and reading teacher as well as a private tutor for students in grades 1-12. I believe in using creative teaching methods that engage all of the senses in the learning process. If students can hear about it, see it, discuss it, and manipulate it- they CAN learn it.
I hold the following teaching credentials:
-NY certification in Special Education
-NY certification in Elementary Education
-NY certification in Literacy (Birth- Grade 12)
-CA Multiple Subject credentials
I love working with students and getting them excited about learning. If a student doesn't understand something one way, I will find an alternate way to teach it until that "Ah ha!" moment is achieved. I have worked with some very difficult students and find that I can always find a way to lead them to success. My goal is to not only teach specific content, but also the skills that can be applied to any content at any grade level.
