I just graduated From Long Island University Hudson campus with a Masters in Education in TESOL (teaching English to speakers of other languages). I love reading, writing and helping cultivate the same in other people. For the past 2 years I've been involved in the Read Write Now tutoring program that's run through Hadassah. That means that once a week, throughout the school year, I meet with the same student and we work on improving her reading and writing skills, getting feedback from her teacher. I like to let the student try and figure things out on their own, before stepping in and helping them, because if I always give them the answer, they're not going to learn anything. I'm very patient and supportive, giving praise whenever it's needed. My strengths are writing, grammar, reading and outlining essays. I spent my final semester student teaching at an elementary school in New Rochelle and had a blast doing it too. I loved coming up with lessons that were fun and educational, I helped a struggling reader markedly improved her skills and generally enjoyed my time with the students.
